We all love our dogs, but sometimes we love them too much, and can’t control them.

Let’s face it, our dogs control us most of the time. That was certainly the way things were

with us. Our dogs had no respect for us at all. They barked constantly, would never come

when we called, jumped up at strangers, chased other dogs. You name it, our dogs did it!

We have an extended family and we all have dogs of different breeds and sizes,

so we decided to try and turn things around. Below are some of the systems we tried on

our own dogs, as well as systems tried by our extended family and friends.

We mention this system first, not because it is a dog training system, but because it reveals very important information about the food you most likely buy for your dogs. I have to say, I was quite disturbed when I read the information.

We immediately changed our habbits around the food we prepared for our dogs, and the changes in their attitude were noticeable after only a couple of days. It is very worrying that the consumer might be feeding food to their dogs that could be causing them long term harm.

A healthy dog is often a happier dog, and a happier dog is easier to train and some of the recipes we discovered in this book were great and our dogs loved them. Not only were they happier, but we saved money. We highly recommend this book. It will pay for itself in no time at all!

2 - Effective D.I.Y. Dog Training

This system contains some great techniques to completely change the behaviour of your dog. I have seen some of these techniques demonstrated on the TV by professional dog trainers, but some were completely new and very innovatve.

We tried this system on our dog Boxer. He had been a rescue dog and had been badly treated for some time. It was written and produced by a lady called Sharda Baker who is from the United States. She has been selling this system for over 4 years now and has had thousands of testimonials from satisfied customers (including me). Sharda includes audio tutorials as well as he electronic books and guides and these are very handy for listening to whilst wwalking your dog. I uploaded the audio onto my MP3 player and listened to Sharda whilst travelling.

Sharda offers 3 packages; gold, silver and bronze depending on what you need so this makes her offer very affordable for the vast majority of customers. Sharda also offers e-mail consultations with all her customers which we feel provides that ‘personal touch’ you don’t get with other systems. The bronze package will give you the basic knowledge you need to train your dog effectively, including how to potty train it along with some very useful veterinarian tips. 3 - Debbie Jeane Dog Training Videos

This is a collection of 10 videos produced by a lady called Debbie Jean. Debbie has been training dogs for over 30 years and has written loads of books on the subject. Many of her techniques are taught by other dog trainers, some of whom now appear on the TV with their own TV shows.

My sister-in-law reviewed these videos. She has a 3 year old Jack Russell that never comes when he is called. He is probably one of the most stubborn dogs I know. He will just sit there and stare at you when you call him. Anyway, after applying the techniques learnt from watching just one of these videos, my sister-in-law was able to change her dog’s behaviour within a couple opf days. She was delighted and says the videos have changed her life.

Some people prefer watching videos to reading books, but Debbie provides a transcript of each video so if you want ot print something off to read on the bus or train, you can. We found this little extra very useful.

4 - Professional Hollywood North Dog Trainer

This is a collection of 7 videos produced by a lady called Dove Cresswell. She is a renound animal trainer, and has worked in Hollywood for years training dogs to appear in the movies and on many TV commercials.

Two of our friends tried these videos and used the techniques on their 3 dogs, all German Shepherds. The fact that you can watch Dove and listen to her at the same time is a great advantage. Seeing how she approaches the dao and being able to observe her hand movements and body language is something you can’t always get from a book.

Dove’s training videos cover all the basic dog training points most dog owners want to cover, such as potty training, the recall, crate training, the heel etc. We think the videos are very informative and easy to follow.
